The Best Sites To Visit

There is a huge amount on information on renewable energy available online.

Some of it good, some of it great and some of it misleading.

So where to start.

We have found the best and most resourceful place and the one to start with is:

http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland

This is the one recommended by Ofgem and Department of Energy and Climate Control and where you should begin your journey.

The next best site we have found is:

www.yougen.co.uk

This is a fantastic resourceful site.  Full of great articles and reviews.

We'd also highly recommend you vist the consumer section  of the Renewable Energy Associatio Website.

http://www.recc.org.uk/consumers

The REA was established in 2001, as a not-for-profit trade association, representing British renewable energy producers and promoting the use of renewable energy in the UK

If you are of a technical nature without doubt the best site is:

http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/photovoltaic-solar-panels-green-energy-forum/

This is a site for and by electricians.  Here you will find unbiased views of panels, inverters, mounting systems and a host of other stuff.

And finally.

 http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvgis/apps4/pvest.php?lang=en&map=europe

This is the European PV Geographical Information System. It’s a database of the amount of sunlight you can expect to get anywhere in Europe.  All you need to do is enter your postcode in the top left hand side.  Then input the size of system you’d like…usually 4.00 kwp.  Finally enter the Azimuth number for the compass direction your roof faces.  South is 0.  East is 90.  West  180.  And then press calculate and you’ll get a month by month breakdown of what your system would generate in kilowatts based on your post code.
